Yasuhiro Uchida is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Okazaki. Born in 1952, he previously served as a member of the Aichi Prefectural Assembly for seven terms, including a tenure as the 86th Chairman of the assembly. Uchida began his political career as a secretary to Shintaro Abe before entering local politics. Throughout his mayoral tenure, he has focused on urban redevelopment projects, such as the QURUWA strategy for the Otogawa riverfront, and the promotion of local historical and cultural initiatives. Known for his conservative political views, he has been a vocal proponent of historical revisionism and maintains a strong stance against left-wing political movements.
