Yiannis Antoniou is the Deputy Government Spokesman of the Republic of Cyprus, appointed to the position in September 2023 by President Nikos Christodoulides. Born on July 11, 1969, he is a graduate of Laniteion B’ Lyceum in Lemesos and studied Political Sciences in Sofia, Bulgaria, alongside journalism studies in Lefkosia. Prior to his appointment in government communications, he had a long and prominent career in journalism, working for newspapers such as Haravghi, Phileleftheros, and serving as Editor-in-Chief for Kathimerini Cyprus, as well as holding board positions with the Cyprus News Agency and the Cyprus Union of Journalists.
