Yosef Taieb is an Israeli politician and rabbi who currently serves as a member of the Knesset for the Shas party. Born in Paris to Tunisian Jewish parents, he emigrated to Israel at age 17 to study at the Mir Yeshiva in Jerusalem and later served in the Givati Brigade of the Israel Defence Forces. Before his parliamentary career, he worked as a community rabbi in Toulouse and managed projects for French immigrants through the Wolfson Foundation. He also served as deputy mayor of Kiryat Ye'arim. Taieb has held his Knesset seat through multiple terms, notably chairing the Knesset Committee on Education, Culture and Sports.
