Yuan Yang is a British politician, economist, and journalist who has served as the Member of Parliament for Earley and Woodley since 2024, becoming the first Chinese-born person elected to the UK Parliament. Before entering politics, she worked as a correspondent for the Financial Times, covering China's technology sector and economy, and authored the book 'Private Revolutions'. A member of the Treasury Select Committee and chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Social Science and Policy, Yang has campaigned on issues including local football club ownership and property management regulation. She is a graduate of Balliol College, Oxford, and the London School of Economics.
