Yusuf Yusuf

Yusuf M. Yusuf is an American politician serving as a member of the Maine House of Representatives for the 118th district since 2024. Born in Somalia, he fled during the Somali Civil War and lived in Syria before immigrating to the United States in 2007. He earned a Bachelor of Science in sociology from Western Washington University in 2016. Before his election to the state legislature, he worked as a mental health case manager and served as a candidate for the Portland School Board. Yusuf has been an advocate for social issues, including supporting calls for a ceasefire in Gaza and criticizing anti-immigrant rhetoric.
