Zainal Arifin Paliwang is an Indonesian politician and former police officer currently serving as the Governor of North Kalimantan. A retired brigadier general, he previously served as the deputy chief of police for North Kalimantan from 2018 to 2020. Since entering politics, he has held the position of chair of the advisory board for the Gerindra Party in North Kalimantan. His administration has notably supported the development of gold mining operations in the Mahak River region.
