Zubir Ahmed is a British Labour Party politician and surgeon who has served as the Member of Parliament for Glasgow South West since 2024. Born in Glasgow to Pakistani parents, he pursued a medical career, specializing as a transplant and vascular surgeon. Ahmed entered politics during the COVID-19 pandemic and previously contested the Glasgow Pollok seat in the 2021 Scottish Parliament election. Following his election to the House of Commons, he served as a Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Health Innovation and Safety from 2025 to 2026, before resigning from the ministerial post in May 2026.
