He assumed office in February 2024 following his victory in the 2024 Pakistani general election, where he ran as an independent candidate for the NA-34 Nowshera-II constituency. Ali secured his seat by receiving 95,692 votes, significantly outpacing his opponents. He represents the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in the national legislature for the 2024–2029 term.
