Madagascar

Michael Randrianirina is a Malagasy military officer and politician who has served as President of Madagascar since 2025. Born in Sevohipoty in 1974, he received his military training at the Antsirabe Military Academy and previously served as Governor of Androy and head of the elite CAPSAT unit. He came to power following protests against the previous administration and subsequent political changes, pledging to reform governance, fight corruption, and hold elections within two years.

Rasata Rafaravavitafika is a Malagasy diplomat and politician who was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs of Madagascar on January 14, 2024. She is the fifth and youngest woman to hold this position in the history of Malagasy diplomacy. Prior to her ministerial appointment, she worked within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for several years in roles including Chief of Staff, Spokesperson, and Director of Economic Expansion. He has served as a member of the Parliament of Madagascar since 2014 and assumed office as the President of the National Assembly of Madagascar in October 2025. In addition to his political career, he is a prominent sports administrator, leading the Malagasy Judo Federation, the African Judo Union, and the Malagasy Olympic Committee, and ran as an opposition candidate in the 2023 Malagasy presidential election.
