Aarón Manuel Ortíz is an American politician serving as a Democratic member of the Illinois House of Representatives for the 1st district. First elected in 2018, he has since taken on leadership roles, including serving as a House Majority Caucus Whip and as the House Chair for the Illinois Legislative Latino Caucus. Before his legislative career, Ortíz worked as a teacher and college counselor at Back of the Yards High School. He is also notable for becoming the first Latino Ward Committeeperson in Chicago's 14th Ward in 2020.
