Abe Jones is an American politician serving as a member of the North Carolina House of Representatives for the 38th district since 2021. Born in Wilson, North Carolina, he earned his undergraduate degree from Harvard University in 1974 and a J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1977. His extensive legal and public service career includes roles as an attorney for the U.S. Attorney's office and the North Carolina Attorney General, as well as serving on the Wake County Board of Commissioners. Jones also served as an administrative law judge and a judge for the North Carolina Superior Court from 1995 to 2012. He has taught at the University of North Carolina School of Law and remains active in his community through his involvement with the Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity and the Martin Street Baptist Church.
