Abel Caballero

Abel Caballero is a Spanish politician and economist who has served as the Mayor of Vigo since 2007. A member of the Socialists' Party of Galicia (PSdeG-PSOE), he previously held a seat in the Spanish Congress of Deputies, representing A Coruña from 1982 to 1986 and Pontevedra from 1986 to 1997. In addition to his mayoral duties, he has served as the president of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) since 2015. Caballero is widely recognized for his long-standing influence in Galician municipal politics and his academic background in economics.
