Abubakar Jeje Odongo

Abubakar Jeje Odongo is a Ugandan senior military officer and politician currently serving as the Minister for Foreign Affairs, a position he has held since June 2021. A career soldier who attained the rank of General, he previously served as the Minister of Internal Affairs from 2016 to 2022 and as the Minister of State for Defence. Odongo began his military career in 1979 and later represented the military in the Constituent Assembly that drafted the 1995 Ugandan Constitution. He also served as the Commander of the Army from 1998 to 2001. He holds a Master of Arts in International Relations and Diplomacy from Nkumba University.
