Adriana Poli Bortone is an Italian politician currently serving as the Mayor of Lecce, a position she assumed again in 2024 after previously holding it from 1998 to 2007. A long-standing figure in Italian politics, she served as a member of the Chamber of Deputies for several terms starting in 1983 and as a Senator of the Republic from 2008 to 2013. During her career, she held the position of Minister of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Resources in the first Berlusconi government. Throughout her tenure, she has been associated with various right-wing parties, including the Italian Social Movement, National Alliance, and currently Brothers of Italy, consistently advocating for regionalist policies focused on the development of Southern Italy.
