Aime Wichtendahl

Aime Wichtendahl is an American politician serving as a member of the Iowa House of Representatives for District 80. In 2024, she made history as the first transgender person elected to the Iowa General Assembly. Prior to her state-level service, she was elected to the Hiawatha City Council in 2015, where she served for several terms. A graduate of Mount Mercy University, Wichtendahl is a vocal advocate for LGBTQIA+ rights, green energy initiatives, and the support of small businesses within her community.
