Ajay Tamta

Ajay Tamta is an Indian politician from Uttarakhand currently serving as a Member of Parliament for the Almora constituency and as a Minister of State in the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. A member of the Bharatiya Janata Party, he has held various legislative and ministerial roles, including serving in the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly and as a Union Minister of State for Textiles during the first Modi administration. Tamta began his political career in local government as a district panchayat member and has since secured multiple terms in the Lok Sabha, most recently winning re-election in 2024.
