Akihito Kitaue is a Japanese politician currently serving as a member of the Hyogo Prefectural Assembly, representing the Kawanishi City and Kawabe District constituency. Before entering prefectural politics, he served four terms as a member of the Kawanishi City Council and worked for the Kawanishi City Social Welfare Corporation. His career also includes experience as a secretary to a member of the House of Representatives and as a member of the United Nations East Timor support team. Kitaue is actively involved in regional development and policy advocacy, focusing on issues such as local economic measures, disaster prevention, and social welfare. He is also a proponent of international peace diplomacy and community-based engagement.
