Akram Hasson is an Israeli Druze politician currently serving as a member of the Knesset representing the New Hope party. A career educator and administrator, he previously served as the mayor of Carmel City and held multiple terms in the Knesset as a member of the Kadima and Kulanu parties. Notably, in 2015, he became the first Druze leader of a Jewish political party. Throughout his career, Hasson has been an advocate for the preservation of the Hebrew language and has held various local government positions, including Deputy Mayor of Daliyat al-Karmel.
