Ze'ev Elkin is an Israeli politician currently serving as a Member of the Knesset. Born in Kharkiv, Soviet Union, he immigrated to Israel in 1990 and pursued academic studies in history and Jewish studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Throughout his career, he has held numerous ministerial positions, including Minister of Jerusalem Affairs, Minister of Housing and Construction, and Minister of Environmental Protection. Known for his fluency in Russian, he has frequently served as an interpreter for Israeli Prime Ministers during diplomatic meetings with Russian leadership. He was previously associated with the Kadima, Likud, and National Unity parties before joining the New Hope party.
