Alejandro Char

Alejandro Char Chaljub is a Colombian politician and civil engineer currently serving his third term as the Mayor of Barranquilla. A prominent member of the Radical Change party, he previously held the office from 2008 to 2011 and again from 2016 to 2019. Char also served as the Governor of the Department of Atlántico in 2003. Throughout his career, he has been recognized for his focus on urban development and infrastructure projects, though his tenure has also been marked by controversy regarding corruption allegations. He remains a highly influential figure in Colombian regional politics.
