Norma Hurtado Sánchez

Norma Hurtado Sánchez is a Colombian politician and lawyer currently serving as a Senator of the Republic. Born in Buga, she holds a law degree from the University of Santiago de Cali and a master's degree in Public Policy from the University of the Valle. Before her election to the Senate in 2022, she served as a member of the Chamber of Representatives and as a councilor for the city of Cali. Throughout her career, she has focused on public health, women's rights, child welfare, and social security. As a senator, she has been a prominent figure in the Seventh Commission, notably playing a key role in the legislative debate regarding the government's proposed health system reform.
