Antonio Correa Jiménez

Antonio José Correa Jiménez is a Colombian politician and surgeon currently serving as a Senator of the Republic. Born in Cartagena de Indias, he holds a medical degree from the Universidad Metropolitana de Barranquilla and a master's degree in Public Management from the Universidad CECAR. Before entering politics, he worked as a rural and hospital physician, an experience that shaped his focus on public health and social policy. Since his election to the Senate in 2010, he has championed initiatives related to labor rights, education, and regional development, with a particular emphasis on the needs of the Colombian Caribbean. He is known for his active role in political control debates regarding state transparency and social investment.
