Alexander Maier

Alexander Maier is a German politician and the Lord Mayor of Göppingen, a position he has held since January 2021. Before his election as mayor, he served as a member of the Landtag of Baden-Württemberg from 2016 to 2020, where he focused on anti-extremism strategies and digital policy. A member of Alliance 90/The Greens, Maier began his career in media and journalism, winning a regional media award in 2015. He is known for his long-standing commitment to anti-fascist activism, having founded the local alliance 'Kreis Göppingen nazifrei' in 2012.
