Alexander Pechtold

Alexander Pechtold is a Dutch politician and former party leader of Democrats 66 (D66). Born in Delft, he served as the Minister for Government Reform and Kingdom Relations from 2005 to 2006 and as a long-standing member and parliamentary leader in the House of Representatives between 2006 and 2018. Following his tenure in national politics, he held leadership roles in the public sector, including as director of the Central Bureau of Driving Licenses. In September 2025, he assumed office as the Mayor of Delft.
