
Frank Dales

Frank Dales is a Dutch politician and administrator who has served as the Mayor of Velsen since April 2016. A member of the Democrats 66 (D66) party, he began his political career in 1980 as the youngest municipal councilor in the Netherlands in Purmerend. He later served as a councilor and alderman in Alphen aan den Rijn and as the mayor of Breukelen. Between 2007 and 2016, Dales led the Dutch Animal Protection Society (Dierenbescherming) as its national director, where he oversaw a major organizational restructuring and the introduction of the 'Beter Leven' quality mark for animal welfare.
