Boris Dittrich

Boris Dittrich is a Dutch politician, jurist, and human rights activist currently serving as a member of the Senate of the Netherlands, where he has held the position of First Vice-President since 2025. A prominent member of the social-liberal party Democrats 66 (D66), he previously served in the House of Representatives from 1994 to 2006, including a tenure as party leader. Throughout his career, Dittrich has been a pioneering advocate for LGBT rights, playing a key role in the legalization of same-sex marriage in the Netherlands. Beyond his parliamentary work, he has served as an advocacy director for Human Rights Watch and is an accomplished author of several books, including thrillers and works on human rights.
