Alexander Stewart is a Scottish Conservative Party politician who has served as a Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) for the Mid Scotland and Fife region since 2016. Before his election to the Scottish Parliament, he served as a councillor for Perth City South on the Perth and Kinross Council for 18 years. Throughout his parliamentary career, Stewart has held various shadow ministerial roles, including spokesperson for Local Government and currently serves as the Deputy Constitution, External Affairs and Culture Spokesperson. He is a proponent of conservative policies and notably campaigned for the United Kingdom to leave the European Union during the 2016 referendum.
