Alfonso Rueda

Alfonso Rueda Valenzuela is a Spanish politician serving as the President of the Regional Government of Galicia since 2022. A member of the People's Party (PP), he previously held various administrative roles, including Director General of Local Administration and Vice President of Galicia under Alberto Núñez Feijóo. Rueda was elected to the Parliament of Galicia in 2009 and later succeeded Feijóo as both the leader of the People's Party of Galicia and the regional president. He is known for his advocacy of bilingualism in the region and led his party to an absolute majority in the 2024 Galician elections.
