Sara Hernández

Sara Hernández Barroso is a Spanish politician serving as the Mayor of Getafe since 2015. A member of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE), she previously served as a city councillor in Getafe starting in 2003 and held the position of secretary-general of the PSOE in the Community of Madrid from 2015 to 2017. Hernández holds a law degree and a master's degree in institutional and political communications from the Charles III University of Madrid. Throughout her tenure as mayor, she has focused on local governance, social policy, and municipal administration, including controversial initiatives regarding sex education and the renaming of local landmarks.
