Carmela Silva

Carmela Silva is a Spanish politician, lawyer, and teacher who currently serves as a member of the Senate of Spain representing Pontevedra. A prominent figure in the PSdeG-PSOE, she has held significant roles including president of the Senate's Budget Committee and First Deputy Mayor of Vigo. Throughout her career, she has been a trailblazer for women in Spanish politics, notably serving as the first female PSOE spokesperson in the Senate and the first woman to preside over the Provincial Deputation of Pontevedra.
