Inés Rey García is a Spanish politician serving as the Mayor of A Coruña since 2019. A lawyer by profession, she joined the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) in 2001 and later became the first female mayor in the city's democratic history. In addition to her municipal duties, she was elected vice president of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) in 2023. Her administration has focused on local infrastructure and fiscal responsibility, notably leading the decision to withdraw A Coruña from hosting the 2030 FIFA World Cup to prioritize local facility investments.
