Ali Hassan Khalil

Ali Hassan Khalil is a Lebanese politician and a long-serving Member of Parliament representing the Marjeyoun-Hasbaya district. A prominent figure in the Amal Movement, he is widely considered the second most powerful individual within the party behind Speaker Nabih Berri. Throughout his career, he has held several ministerial positions, including Minister of Public Health and Minister of Finance. Khalil has been a central figure in Lebanese politics since the 1990s, though his tenure has been marked by significant controversy, including U.S. Treasury sanctions for alleged corruption and legal challenges related to the 2020 Beirut port explosion.
