Alison Thewliss is a Scottish politician serving as a Member of the Scottish Parliament for Glasgow Central since 2026. A long-time member of the Scottish National Party, she previously served as the Member of Parliament for Glasgow Central in the British House of Commons from 2015 to 2024. During her time in Westminster, she was a prominent campaigner against the government's two-child tax credit policy and served as the SNP's shadow Home Affairs spokesperson. She began her political career as a Glasgow City councillor in 2007.
