Allan Widman

Allan Widman is a Swedish politician and civil servant who has served as the County Governor of Kalmar County since May 1, 2023. Prior to his current appointment, he was a long-serving Member of the Swedish Parliament (Riksdag) from 2002 to 2022, representing the Malmö Municipality constituency. During his parliamentary tenure, he held significant leadership roles, including serving as the chairman of the Committee on European Union Affairs from 2012 to 2014 and as the chairman of the Committee on Defence from 2014 to 2018. He is a member of the Liberal Party.
