Américo António Cuononoca is an Angolan politician and anthropologist currently serving as the First Vice-President of the National Assembly of Angola. Born in Luena, Moxico Province, he holds a doctorate in social sciences with a specialization in social anthropology. Before his legislative career, he had a distinguished tenure in the cultural sector, serving as the Director General of the National Museum of Anthropology and later as the Director General of the National Directorate of Museums. A member of the MPLA, he previously led the party's parliamentary group from 2018 to 2021 and has been a deputy in the National Assembly since the third legislature.
