Amadou Dicko

Amadou Dicko is a Burkinabe veterinarian and politician currently serving as the Minister Delegate for Animal Resources of Burkina Faso, a position he has held since January 2023. A specialist in veterinary medicine with a doctorate from the Inter-State School of Veterinary Sciences and Medicine in Dakar, he previously worked as a researcher at the National Institute of Public Health of Burkina Faso. His political tenure has focused on modernizing the livestock sector through infrastructure development, such as the Ziniaré modern slaughterhouse, and promoting the 'One Health' approach to integrate human, animal, and environmental health. He is also an advocate for international cooperation in agricultural science, notably through partnerships with the IAEA and the FAO to improve food security and sustainable pastoralism in the Sahel region.
