Amarpal Maurya

Amarpal Maurya is an Indian politician currently serving as a Member of the Rajya Sabha, representing the state of Uttar Pradesh. Born into a farming family, he began his political career through student activism and later worked with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh in Haryana. He previously served as the State General Secretary for the Bharatiya Janata Party and worked as a personal assistant to veteran leader Uma Bharti. Maurya unsuccessfully contested the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly election from the Unchahar constituency before being elected to the upper house of India's Parliament in 2024.
