Ambika Basnet is a Nepalese politician affiliated with the Nepali Congress who currently serves as a member of the Federal Parliament of Nepal. Entering politics in the early 1970s, she was a prominent activist during the democratic movement and was imprisoned for her participation in the 1985 Satyagraha. Basnet previously served as the Minister of Co-operatives and Poverty Alleviation and was a member of the Constituent Assembly, where she advocated for women's rights, equal citizenship, and the inclusion of marginalized communities in the constitution-drafting process.
