Ana Catarina Mendonça Mendes is a Portuguese politician currently serving as a Member of the European Parliament. A long-standing member of the Socialist Party, she previously served as a deputy in the Assembly of the Republic from 1995 to 2024 and held the position of Minister of Parliamentary Affairs in the XXIII Constitutional Government from 2022 to 2024. Throughout her career, she has been a prominent figure in the Socialist Party, serving as its first female Parliamentary Leader and as Deputy Secretary-General. She is also the Vice President of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats.
