Anahit Avanesian

Anahit Avanesian is an Armenian jurist and politician serving as the Minister of Health of Armenia since January 2021. She is the first woman to serve in the cabinet of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Before entering public administration, she worked as a jurist for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and in the pharmaceutical industry. As Health Minister, she has been a central figure in managing Armenia's response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
