Деркач, Андрей Леонидович

Andriy Derkach is a politician who currently serves as a Senator of the Russian Federation representing Astrakhan Oblast. Previously a long-term member of the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada, he held various parliamentary roles from 1998 to 2023. Throughout his career, he has been involved in the energy sector, including serving as president of Energoatom. Following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, he was accused of state treason and working for Russian intelligence, leading to the revocation of his Ukrainian citizenship and parliamentary mandate in 2023. He has been subject to international sanctions, particularly from the United States, for alleged interference in American elections.
