Angel Ramirez is an American politician serving as a member of the Iowa House of Representatives for the 78th district since May 2025. A first-generation college graduate who earned degrees in political science and social and criminal justice from Coe College, she is a prominent advocate for social and racial justice in Cedar Rapids. Before her election, she worked as a legislative aide and served as the executive director for the non-profit fellowship program Our Future. Ramirez made history as the first Latina elected to the Iowa General Assembly.
