Ann Kao

Kao Hung-an is a Taiwanese engineer and politician currently serving as the Mayor of Hsinchu. She previously served as a member of the Legislative Yuan from 2020 to 2022, representing the Taiwan People's Party. Before entering politics, she held a prominent role as vice president of Foxconn's Industrial Big Data Office and worked as a researcher for the Institute for Information Industry. Kao holds a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the University of Cincinnati. Her tenure as mayor has been marked by significant legal challenges, including corruption allegations and a temporary suspension from office, though she was reinstated in December 2025 following a high court ruling.
