Ann Mallalieu, Baroness Mallalieu

Ann Mallalieu, Baroness Mallalieu, is a British lawyer and Labour Party politician who has served as a life peer in the House of Lords since 1991. Educated at Newnham College, Cambridge, where she became the first female president of the Cambridge Union Society, she pursued a career as a barrister. Throughout her parliamentary tenure, she has been a notable advocate for rural interests, serving as president of the Countryside Alliance and opposing the ban on hunting with hounds. She is a member of a prominent political family and has previously contested parliamentary seats for the Labour Party.
