Anne Vignot

Anne Vignot is a French politician who served as the Mayor of Besançon from 2020 to 2026, becoming the first woman to hold the office. A member of The Ecologists, she previously worked as a research engineer at the CNRS and directed the botanical garden of Besançon. During her tenure as mayor, she focused on urban sustainability, including the reduction of car traffic, the expansion of cycling infrastructure, and the development of decarbonized heating networks. She also served as the president of Grand Besançon Métropole during her mayoral term.
