Previously, she served as the Mayor of Montpelier, Vermont, from 2018 to 2023, and as a member of the Montpelier City Council. A physics teacher at Montpelier High School, Watson is also recognized for her successful advocacy in making Ultimate Frisbee an official varsity-level sport in Vermont high schools.
