Annette Sweeney is an American politician currently serving as a member of the Iowa Senate, representing the 27th District. A member of the Republican Party, she has held this seat since 2018, following her victory in a special election to succeed Bill Dix. Prior to her tenure in the state senate, Sweeney served in the Iowa House of Representatives from 2009 to 2013. Before entering politics, she worked as a middle school literature teacher and managed her family farm. She is a graduate of Concordia University Nebraska.
