Before his current tenure in the Senate, Nesbitt served in the Michigan House of Representatives and as the Michigan Lottery Commissioner from 2017 to 2018. He holds a B.A. in economics from Hillsdale College and a master's degree in international business from the Norwegian School of Economics.
