佐喜眞淳

Atsushi Sakima is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Ginowan, Okinawa. Born in Ginowan, he studied at Chiba University of Commerce and spent time in France before entering politics. He previously served as a member of the Ginowan City Council and the Okinawa Prefectural Assembly. Throughout his career, Sakima has been a prominent figure in Okinawan politics, having run multiple times for the governorship of Okinawa. His policy platform has focused on economic development, cooperation with the national government, and the management of the Futenma Air Station, where he has advocated for the base's return while supporting the relocation plan to Henoko. He is a member of the Liberal Democratic Party.
