Jun Tsushima is a Japanese politician serving as a member of the House of Representatives, currently in his sixth term. Born in Paris, France, he is the grandson of the renowned novelist Osamu Dazai and the son of former politician Yuji Tsushima. Before entering politics, he worked at the electrical engineering firm Kandenko for 14 years. Throughout his parliamentary career, he has held several key government positions, including State Minister of the Cabinet Office and State Minister of Justice. Politically, he is known for his conservative stances, including opposition to the introduction of selective separate surnames for married couples and support for visits to Yasukuni Shrine. He is also an active member of various parliamentary leagues, including those focused on tobacco culture and the promotion of international tourism.
